Imaginaerum is a drama fantasy film about an aging composer who is trapped in a coma and explores his memories and imagination through a magical snow globe. As his life flashes before his eyes, he relives his greatest fears, regrets, and losses while rediscovering the power of his own imagination.

The series follows the life of Hassan, an old chivalrous Arabesque workshop owner who lives in a poor neighborhood with his family. The series provides an insight into the day-to-day struggles of the family as Hassan gets involved in much of their neighbors' disputes and affairs.

This is a tragic love story between the Agha's daughter İpek and the poor farmhand Ferdi. The two lovers, who grew up in the same village, separated when İpek moved to the city, but their love continued. Despite the kinship between Abbas Agha and Ferdi's father, the Agha's change of heart when he inherits money puts an end to the friendship. Despite his father's warnings about Ipek, Ferdi doesn't listen and moves to the city, thinking that Abbas Agha will help him. As Agha despises Ferdi, he endures every insult and hardship for his love. Realizing that he cannot be with İpek while he's poor, there is only one way left for the young man to realize his dreams: to go to Istanbul.

The film’s visual structure is principally composed of variations on the arabesque: arcs of light, water spouts, spider webs, burgeoning trees, flowers and foliage, a woman’s smile, arms stretching, an arm giving rhythm to a rocking chair. It uses natural elements (light, mirrors, water, and wind) and photographic techniques (multiple exposures and lenses) to distort the various elements, or to intensify their design.
