Chris Nielsen dies in an accident and enters Heaven. When he learns that his wife Annie has committed suicide, he goes on an afterlife adventure to be with her. While in Heaven, he meets a guide and learns about his new existence. He also tries to communicate with Annie, but it only causes her pain. Chris eventually reunites with his daughter Marie and decides to rescue Annie from Hell, even though it is believed to be impossible. With the help of a tracker, he finds Annie, but risks becoming trapped in Hell. In the end, Annie saves Chris and they are reunited with their children in Heaven.
