Events in the "Businessmen" unfold in the era of the 90's, when the country is experiencing an economic crisis. Heroes of the film are among the first who stood at the origins of market relations in Kazakhstan.

The film tells the love story of a successful Sabine and a Kazakh language teacher Arman, who is expecting the birth of his son with his fiancee. Language lessons for Sabina become lessons of love that she must understand.
