A popular Russian actor with a scandalous reputation, Dmitry Petrovsky, is suing his ex—wife, a middle-class actress Marina Khrumkina. For several weeks he will have to defend his honor and dignity before the court.

The action of the film takes place in a small provincial town and is divided into four short stories connected with each other by storylines.
