Koodi Vazhnthal Kodi Nanmai is the story of three brother and their families who live together.

Indra and her three sisters are married off to mediocre men by their patriarchal father. However, he realises their importance when his son stirs discord in the family.

Ramki moves to the city to stay at his aunty Radhika's house. Radhika is married to Manivannan, a politician, who forces Radhika to nominate herself for the regional MLA position. Radhika initially refuses the chance but later gets convinced by her nephew to stand in the elections. She later becomes a MLA and wants to help and serve the people. On the other hand, her husband wants to take bribes, misuse power and become rich.

Amusing complications ensue when two jobless men pass themselves off as college professors in this entertaining yarn. Thrown into company with a pair of well-heeled sisters, one reserved and the other fiery the impostors soon win the ladies' hearts, and the couples each tie the knot. But when the truth comes out, will the men ever get back into their irate wives' good graces?

Subramani, Vellaisamy, Arumugam and Ponrasu are four friends from poor family; they are graduate but they cannot find a job. Their fathers feel that they are good-for-nothing and decide to corrupt the politician Anja Nenjam to find them a decent job. Anja Nenjam is linked to Pannaiyar, a ruthless landlord who exploited the villagers. Pannaiyar orders him to flee with their money, otherwise, nobody will respect him. Their friend Pazhanisamy, who is supposed to be a supervisor in the city, is back to his village and was also cheated by Anja Nenjam. The five friends decide to become milk suppliers in their village.

Sivaraman, an honest government clerk, and his wife Lakshmi, belong to a middle-class family and they have two children. Anja Singam Marudupandi, a corrupted politician, moves into a new house near Sivaraman's house. Marudupandi's life style influences Lakshmi and she tries to ape him by buys luxurious items on installments. This puts pressure on Sivaraman and he takes a loan from his office peon but the police arrests him for corruption. He later finds a job in a brandy company with Marudupandi's recommendation.

Sathyaraj dreams of marrying an educated employed girl, of building a dream house of his own, and having just one child. But the wife (Meena) he gets, thanks to the trick played by his scheming orthodox grandparents, turns out to be an illiterate rustic whose dreams are confined to marrying a swarthy man, having a dozen kids and visiting all the temples around. Soon all the dreams of the wife came true and the husband's dream was being destroyed one by one. Vadivelu hoodwinking his own wife (Kalpana) and carrying on unabashedly with his philandering activities is pedestrian comedy. So the husband was quite mad at the wife and his grandparents. Later his friend(Vadivelu) a hooker (Manthara) who develops a soft corner for him. Later the husband and his friend left their family and stayed at the hooker's house for a short period. In the end the husband went back to his wife and stayed happily.

In a middle-class family, three daughters-in-law try their best to adjust with their overbearing mother-in-law and misogynist husbands. Soon, they decide to teach them a lesson.

Mamagaru is a 1991 Telugu-language drama film directed by Muthyala Subbaiah. It stars Dasari Narayana Rao, Vinod Kumar Alva and Yamuna in the main roles. The film is a remake of the Tamil film Naan Pudicha Mappillai.
