She is looking for inspiration from her surroundings, like her neighbor Robert whose relationship is showing first signs of wear. Yet, the ideal model for the protagonist of her novel, an astronaut’s wife, seems to be her landlady Renate. Charlotte starts to delve into the life of Renate and the more she keeps immersing herself, the more she is confronted with her own painful history.

Tim, a high school senior, navigates the challenges of his final year. He attends parties, takes exams, and even goes on his first date. However, at night, he creates videos showcasing his toxic masculinity, expressing his intense hatred towards women, and revealing his intention to carry out a mass shooting on the last day of school. As his self-proclaimed 'Judgment Day' approaches, Tim finds it increasingly difficult to live up to his distorted idea of masculinity.

Suse and Ulla are happy together. They live in the country with Ulla's son Karl and enjoy the summer. One day Tom comes by. Tom is Suse's ex - and he is on his way to a rehab clinic. But over the course of the morning it becomes clear: Tom is not yet really comfortable with the fact that Suse has split up with him. And Suse's hope that Tom has grown up a little bit through the planned rehab is soon dashed.
