The Outlaw and His Wife is a silent film about a tragic romance between a female farmer and an outlaw in northern Sweden. They face obstacles such as common-law marriage, hiding from the authorities, and extreme weather conditions. The story ends with their untimely death.

The farmer Knut Husaby has a daughter, Aslaug, who is the most beautiful girl in the village. Many boys are after her, but Knut and his two sons drive them away, if they come too close to the farm. Aslaug is secretly in love with Tore Naesset. But he is only a smallholder's son, and when he asks for Aslaug's hand, her father just laughs at him. Instead her father wants Aslaug to marry Ola Thormundson, a gawky boy, who is the son of the wealthiest farmer in the village. Aslaug brings her family's cattle to the Husaby summer farm up in the mountain. Only one road leads to the summer farm, and it passes right by the main farm. When Tore returns from a visit to Aslaug in the mountains, Knut and his sons beat him black and blue. As it's impossible for him to use the road anymore, Tore has to figure out another way to go to Aslaug. Next Saturday he crosses the fiord in a rowing-boat. He stops at a fifty meter high wall of rock, and starts climbing it, hoping to reach Aslaug at the top.

Fredrik Mack (Gustav Ranft) owns a glue factory in northern Norway and Ove Rolandsen (Eugen Skjønberg), a great womanizer, works for him. When Mack's beautiful daughter Elise (Lilla Bye) returns from studies, Ove immediately flirts with her.

After the respectable Dr. Monro was found dead, the housekeeper and two engineers testify in court. A case of commercial delinquency and bribery is reconstructed on that occasion. Sadly only about half the film exists today.

The wife of a dull-witted miller is in her deathbed and the miller must find a new woman to marry. He is expected to marry the sister of a local forester, a refined woman he wants to love. She is gentle and motherly, though a rather austere Christian. But the miller lusts after his maidservant, Lise, a ruthless and calculating woman determined to climb up the social ladder. Lise tries to use her lower class sensuality and a bit of magic to entice the miller.

The Silfverdahl sisters goes sailing. One of them married, the other one, Brita, not. After a short journey Brita's sweetheart Einar secretly climbs aboard. Agathon, her prospective husband, get seasick and choose to leave the party.

You can't necessarily use literature to solve a murder. That’s what the avid reader of detective novels, Astrid, will realise when she tries to imitate her novel heroes in a creepy murder mystery. Although her skills as a private detective fall short, she still learns a lot from her attempts. Such as that a charming policeman can be as good as any Sherlock Holmes, both in crime and in love. Young Jörgen Steenfeld is the heir of it over the chimney-indebted estate Steensgaard and unable to clear up its finances. The idea is to Rolf with this pretext to escape from home and be able to amuse themselves on Hasselbackens masquerade next evening.

Gunnar works at a rail road in the woods and blasts a large boulder. Out of the ashes comes Satan himself - with cloven hoofs and a big mean grin.

Synnöve lives with her parents at the farm Solbakken on a sunny hill. Thorbjörn, who lives at Granliden in the shadow of a big mountain, often looks wistfully up to Solbakken. As teenagers they meet and fall in love. Another boy, Knud Nordhaug, is also yearning for Synnöve.
