Three engineering students share a room in college and form a close bond. One of them, Rancho, challenges the conventional education system and inspires his friends to think differently. This leads to clashes with the strict dean of the college and a fellow student who conforms to the system. Through comedy and drama, the story explores themes of friendship, love, ambition, and the pursuit of knowledge.

The movie ends with PK returning to Earth with another alien (Ranbir Kapoor) for more research.
