A young, intelligent and lucky guy, nicknamed Favorite, which stuck to him during his student years, is interested in karate. The local mafia notices him and begins to promote him to the People's Deputies of the RSFSR. A girl he meets after a long separation helps the hero understand this situation. The fight for her honor develops into an open battle with a criminal group, from which the guy emerges with honor.

In 1994, on the initiative of Perm rock musician Oleg Novoselov, a charitable collection of rock music artists "Songs for Tani M" was created. Funds from its implementation were aimed at the construction of a children's cancer center in Perm. Tanya M., Tanya Modina, was among the children who were treated for a terrible illness. Then she was 7 years old, children were shot on an amateur camera, and Tanya became a "face from the cover" of the disc. In the anniversary of that charity event, the widow of Oleg Novoselov, Lena decides to find Tanya, who should be 22 today. And he finds ... in a female colony, where she fell for a robbery...

Set against the backdrop of major historical events of the 20th century – the revolution, the dissolution of the Russian Empire, wars, the Stalinist regime – this film tells the stories of people who lived in Perm in different years.

In 1942, the Ural Volunteer Tank Corps entered the battle on the Oryol-Kursk Bulge. It is the only corps in the world created with money collected on a voluntary basis. Those who assembled these tanks fought in it. The competition for the right to fight in the corps was 14 people per seat. In the first battles at Oryol, every third soldier of almost 3,000 Perm soldiers died. Such was the bitter price of the victory. After the Kursk Bulge, Perm tankers took part in the liberation of Lvov, Poland, Berlin, Prague. Who are they, Perm participants of these battles? What did they look like, what did they think and what did they dream about?

The film is a means of understanding the personal, political and economic reasons that resulted in the creation of a system of forced restraint to work GULAG. Authors use the experience of the writer Varlam Shalamov and a number of new works on the history of Russia.

The film is about the life and philosophy of the hero of the film Kamenskikh Igor Kuzmich, who lives in the village of Pavlovsk, Perm region, founded by the Stroganovs. In the appearance of Kuzmich, the image of Diogenes is recognized. A ramshackle leaning hut with broken windows, a never-heated stove, an old cousin on the next bed. And here, in the house, there is a goat and two horses, which in fact are both a symbol of Kuzmich's life and his stove. The transmigration of souls and the new coming of Christ to Earth, unity with Nature and God - this is his Faith. "When all borders between countries and people are erased," he says at the end of the film, "then the kingdom of God will come."

The fate of the heroine of the film Olga Glazatova. The viewer gets to know her in the last weeks before her release from the general regime colony, where she gave birth to a daughter at the age of 18. The way of life, customs, customs of the women's zone, in which the painfully familiar features of our "free" life manifest themselves, where Olya is so eager, make up the background of the heroine's portrait. The warm, kind intonation of the film awakens what we all lack so much – sympathy.

The village doctor who works in an X-ray lab in a hospital paints the portraits of the local inhabitants. He literally can see them through. His paintings are very good, he loves those people.
