Summer with Monika is a coming-of-age drama set in 1950s Stockholm, Sweden. It follows the relationship between two young lovers, Monika and Harry, as they spend a passionate summer together in the archipelago. Blomberg's driver Bengt Lundgren is in love with the shop assistant Eva Bergström. Bengt deceives his boss by telling him that his car has broken, then he can go out with Eva.

Three drifters walks on a country road. Loffe is about 35 years, Maggan about 50 years and Novisen about 25 years. They arrive to a mansion with a castle ruin by a lake. Loffe says he is the eldest of children born on the estate.
