The adventures and lives of three old friends.

1986, just 12 years after the Carnation Revolution. The Left Wing is divided, while the Right seems on track for an easy win, which will give them both a President and a Government. The only one capable of stopping this victory is a man who fought his whole life against Estado Novo. Arrested dozens of time, deported and exiled, he was one of the first to arrive in Lisbon after April 25st. That man is Mário Soares.

Abel Salazar, a scientist and an artist persecuted by the Fascist regime in the 40ies, is trying to finish a portrait, obsessed by the face of a woman. Ana, a young researcher in the present days, is dreaming about him. Or is it the other way round?

This short film is based upon a book of tales "Exemplary Crimes" by Max Aub who, in his turn, was inspired by real testimonies that describe crimes straightforwardly. The Testimonies are individual confessions by different persons that have nothing in common but the fact that all committed murder.
