The film recounts the life of a young member of parliament who joins the Freemasons in order to relaunch his career. He thus learns of how the Freemasons are conspiring with the Jews and the Anglo-American nations to encourage France into a war against Germany.

The story takes place on the Riviera, where the title character may or may not be involved in various shades of skullduggery, including murder.

On the way to the oasis of Beni-Mora he encounters Domini Enfilden who has been brought up as a Catholic. Androvsky rescues Domini from a rioting crowd and she finds herself deeply attracted to him.

René, a bank employee, is suspected of theft and fired from his job. It borders on the worst by following in the footsteps of a misfit, Alexandre. A series of circumstances lead him to save little Gérard, the bank manager's grandson, from a fire. The child becomes attached to René, who manages to discover the real culprit of the theft.

Le Bouif is a popular figure on the Parisian racetrack. He has the patter, the aplomb, the bonhomie, which allows him to pass on indestructible pipes to the racegoers. The amazement is general when he is accused of murdering the person of his son-in-law and then suspected of having suppressed the owner of a stable. Faced with the stubbornness of the examining magistrate, but helped by sympathetic young people, the Bouif proves his innocence and, back on the lawn, measures his popularity.
