Red carpet, spotlights, screaming fans, photo- graphers chasing for the best photo, camera teams waiting for interviews - a premiere is about to take place and everyone’s eagerly awaiting to see Germany‘s biggest film star, Marvin Bosch. But Marvin’s nowhere to be seen after his interview with the bitchy tabloid journalist Bettina Bamberger ended in disaster. On the run from the media, the star lands in a small, independent feminist LGBT+ theater called “3000” of all places, which is on the verge of going out of business.
It's mid-summer. Dimi has to spend the vacation with his older brother by the Baltic Sea. On a country road he meets beautiful Isabelle. He is fascinated by her, but disillusioned when they arrive at the campsite together: Isabelle is in a relationship, and her boyfriend is Dimis’ older brother Steffen. But Dimi doesn't give up and keeps on struggling for her attention. He shares an inflatable mattress with her, scares her in the shower and takes her on a boat trip. Even if Isabelle is unreachable for Dimi – in the end he will have reached something and will have made everyone reflect a little.
Mother and daughter, both from the GDR: one experienced it, the other did not. Tamara was born in 1990. Like many of the post-reunification generation, she left her homeland and only comes to visit for her milestone birthday. But everything that seemed secure crumbles within a few days: Tamara (Linda Pöppel) and her mother Barbara (Lina Wendel) are left. The two struggle to maintain their relationship, which cannot be detached from the social developments in which the family was born, grew and disintegrated. Now Tamara must face what she has been running away from: her own history.
