An unspecified European country ca 1912 in the throws of political upheaval. A man only dressed in black (Jacob, played by Philip Zandén) is hired to assassinate the Interior Minister Joel Birkman (Etienne Glaser) after a particular brutal strike down of a student protest. He takes up work as the minister's bodyguard at his summer residence, and get's entangled in the affairs and politics of the Birkman family.
David is a drummer supported by unemployment benefit, disappointed that life didn't turn out the way he planned. Now he's on the night ferry from Germany with three thousand ecstasy tablets taped onto his torso. The plan is to sell the pills in Sweden in order to get enough money to start all over somewhere else. But when David meets his first love Sara in the all you can eat buffet, he starts to question the course his life is taking.
Swedish with English subtitles. The charred body of a suffocated medium lies in the gutted remains of her office after a fire. When two other murders take place in the same manner, Maria Wern is forced to lead an investigation in which the motive and the connection between victims remains unclear. At the same time, her colleague Arvidsson's loyalty is forcibly put to the test.
