Based on the Hungarian writer Ferenc Herczeg's novel written in 1894, this film takes the viewers to the past of Hungary. Professor Sergius (Elemér Baló) insists that he invented a machine that can fly faster than the speed of earth's rotation and this enables him (or anyone who travels with him) to fly back with it to the past; that is to travel in time. To prove this the professor promises the hand of his daughter Rózsi (Katalin Karády) and all his possessions to the one who is willing to try the 'space travel' with him in his machine. The romantic and adventurous Hungarian count Ákos Tibor (László Szilassy) finally accepts the challenge. For the count's luck before the time travel he attends a costume ball dressed as a Hungarian hussar. Because when they arrive in the past, people think that he is a far relative of the wealthy landlord whose field they landed. This is how the strange adventures begins for our 20th century hero in the world of the 18th century Austro-Hungary.
It rarely happens that a parent is not happy that their son is serious, hardworking and interested in nothing but work and the land. Well, our Péter Tamássy is like that. Péter's son is only interested in farming, so the father, who was a playboy in his youth, decides that before Péter gets married, he will introduce him to society a little. The successful factory owner Sasho Kamenov marries Maria. Sasho wants to surprise Maria with a villa on the seaside. He commissions the project to architect Karshev who begins to court Maria. Kamenov sends his wife to the seaside. There Maria meets Karshev. She feels unwell in the car and the medical examination reveals that she is expecting a baby. In her joy at the news she accepts the architect's invitation to go boating. A raging storm keeps Maria at Karshev's villa. Kamenov accuses his wife of adultery and chases her away. After a while he repents and goes abroad in search of his wife... Sasho discovers his wife singing in a club in Nice. She tells him everything, he asks her to forgive him and soon the happy family makes a photograph.

László Szilassy
Hungarian actor born in 1908 in Hungary. He studied law in Budapest, and after 7 semesters he became the secretary of Károly Szalay's company. His acting career also began here. In 1933–34 he performed in the company of József Kallós, in 1934–35 in Szeged, in 1935–36 in the association of Imre Miklósy, and in 1936–37 in Debrecen. Between 1937 and 1939 he was a member of the Belvárosi Színház, in 1939–40 of the Magyar and Andrássy Színház, and between 1940 and 1942 of the Pest and Vígszínház. He did not have a permanent contract thereafter. In 1942–43 he performed as a guest at the Budapest Operettszínház. He emigrated in 1944, first living in Brazil from 1946 and then settling in Argentina. In 1950 he was a guest of the Hungarian Acting Society of Argentina, and from 1951 he became a member. In 1960, he moved to Brazil again. Thanks to his good looks, he was frequently cast as the love interest in plays. He has also appeared in films in the 1940s. He died in 1972 due to cancer in São Paulo.
