Two young friends, Lass and Sveppi, run a nightclub in downtown Reykjavik. They hire a beautiful young singer, Sól, who has just moved from the countryside to the city in order to take singing lessons. The boys make a bet which one will get the girl into bed first. As times goes on, Lass realises that he is in love with Sól and wants to give up the bet. Sveppi, on the other hand, has no interest in giving up the bet. Two men in their late twenties, Jim and Frank, old friends from childhood, both emaciated and very grunge guys, meet again after many years. Jim, trying hard to get his life back on track, is pulled in to his old habits of drugs and crimes by Frank and his friends from their old neighbourhood. They set out to help Frank's father to brake out of jail who in return finances their "shopping trip" to Amsterdam.

Joe, fed up with his in-laws, runs away from home. Enjoying his newly gained freedom and his father-in-laws credit card, he seduces a number of girls, buys them expensive presents and wines and dines them. His joyride soon ends when he finds out that his wife - and several other girls - are pregnant.
