Convinced that Eva betrayed him, he sets out to take revenge and find his son.

However, it comes to light that Charles is not Clara’s brother, but rather her fiancé, and that they are two of the city’s most notorious con-artists. In the room next door lives an old inventor, a good friend of Pat and Patachon"s. He’s been working on a television set for some time now, and it seems that his efforts will bear fruit. Patachon has caught the inventing bug and wants to come up with smokeless and noiseless gunpowder. All the while, Pat becomes increasingly worried about his friend. Two shady gentlemen are now attempting to steal the valuable drawings for the television invention, and Pat and Patachon become suspects in the case. Mr Vang, a clerk, has just moved into the fourth floor of a block of flats – and he has already gained a reputation as something of a troublemaker. The woman, a professor’s wife, who lives just below his flat has so far only been indirectly acquainted with him in the form of stomping feet and noise lasting into the small hours. She hopes to meet him face to face soon so that she can give him a thorough talking-to – and her wish is about to come true in a quite unexpected way. The merchant Blomberg is out in the countryside with his daughters and housekeeper when the idyll is suddenly shattered. The daughters head off to have fun with two young guys from Copenhagen who are on a road trip, and the vagabonds Pat and Patachon seize the chance to interfere for their own gain. The preserved material is the original Swedish version titled 'Landsvägsriddare', translated to 'Tyvepak' in Danish. The film was a huge economic success to the then Swedish owned production company Palladium. It is the first film, in which Pat and Patachon appear as a team, although not in their final constellation: As always, Pat is played by Carl Schenstrøm, whereas Patachon is embodied by Aage Bendixen instead of Harald Madsen. There is another 'Tyvepak' from 1915, which is directed by Lau Lauritzen Sr. as well. This film is a heavily revised version of the 1915-film. (stumfilm.dk)
