Jermaine Tulbo, a filmmaker from Mindanao with a film degree from Meridian International College. His films are profoundly known for coming-of-age drama, delving into themes of art, grief, and letting go. As the founder of 98px, an indie film group collective in Davao, he strives for wider recognition, aiming to convey impactful coming-of-age stories through filmmaking. His shorts, "Sumasaiyo" and "Pinakanakakapagpapabagag-damdamin," featured at the prestigious Cinemalaya Film Festival in 2020, while his thesis film, “Ang Pamilya Maguol” is premiered in FDCP’s Sinekabataan also given an Honorable Mention in CCP’s Gawad Alternatibo and Jury’s choice in Binisaya 2024 , "A Crab From A Conch Shell," earned four awards, including "Best Director," at the 2023 MINT Thesis Defense. Beyond filmmaking, Jermaine Tulbo channels his creativity into poster artist at a prominent Filipino film production house. His noticable works are Criterion Channel’s “Breaking Ice”, “When Evil Lurks”, Cannes 2023 “Cobweb” and “Priscilla”. This dedication to visual storytelling through graphic design Tulbo's passion for cinema, and he will pursue filming regional stories.
