A traveller is stuck in an unknown town because his connecting train will only arrive in six hours. He decides to kill time by taking a stroll. He is not prepared to get confused with somebody else. In fact the citizens are eagerly awaiting the visit of a famous man and the clueless traveller is his doppelgänger. Soon he experiences what that means.

Pursued by the police, Saget usurps the identity of a man who was returning to his town after having made his fortune in the United States. Under this new name, he deceives his compatriots with the exception of a doctor and the savage Isabelle. During an explanation Saget understands that Isabelle secretly admires him. She denounces him and Saget surrenders without a fight. Thus he ruins all his prestige with the young Amazon.

RY A revolution breaks out in a South American country while its cruel dictator is on a trip to France. The rebels have made careful plans to blow up the dictator's private plane as he returns, but at the last second he changes plans and travels on a commercial flight. The rebels then must make a difficult decision: they must either blow up a flight filled with innocent passengers, or else allow the dictator to return home and take brutal reprisals against the leaders of the uprising.

1933 in Germany. The rise of Nazism fears war and some officers, concerned the fate that hostilities would reserve to their country, organize an anti-Nazi group. They send a reporter, Golder, to communicate the plan of the German offensive allies.

A young man, Jimmy known as “Kisss”, wanders on the bridges of Paris, carrying a sign “for rent”: he offers his services as a companion, in exchange for a can of tin per hour. In a film studio, several actors are the victims of attempted murders. Julien Brisseau, a writer, decides to use these facts as the backbone of his new novel. But while he is working on his detective story, young actors are actually killed. Julien thence gets suspected by police inspector Vétillard. To clear his name, Julien undertakes to investigate and find the killer on his own.

Sweet Virgil believes himself to be a victim of the same bad luck that has pursued parents, grandparents and ancestors before him. Terribly complexed by this misfortune, he nevertheless awkwardly tries his hand at journalism, supported by a charming editor. By chance, he comes face to face with the thundering gangster Esposito. In this cat-and-mouse struggle, the mouse wins. Esposito is arrested and Virgil is rid of his inhibitions forever.
