The film was completed during the huge economical crisis in 2001 in Turkey. Heavily inspired by films like Pi and Matrix, I tried to tell the story of a man who is about to lose his sense, perception and connection with reality. The film is one of the two shorts from Turkey awarded in Clermont Ferrand to this day.

6 young directors from 6 countries in 3 days in front of the Golden Drum participants created, shot and edited each their own short film on a topic »Cum grano salis«. The topic was revealed to each director only 6 hours before the shooting begins. They all have the same working conditions, the same technical equipment and two actors available. That's the way they can equally demonstrate their creative fantasy and professional ingenuity.

A housewife has an unexpected guest at night but things are not as they seem. This independent, uber low budget short mystery thriller with twists can also be seen from a feminist perspective about women issues in Turkey.

'The Rain in Spain' tells the story of a sex robot in near future. The title is a reference the iconic movie 'My Fair Lady'

This short film is shot as a part of a film directing workshop at IFA with a student only crew in eight hours.
