A biographical drama showcasing the struggles of German workers against their oppressors, with a strong emphasis on socialist propaganda and German history.

A young Egyptian doctor leaves his uneducated, dance girl lady friend behind while he focuses on fighting poverty and superstition. Years later, rich and famous, on a trip to Paris he discovers her again, in a night club.

Dr. Wagner is a scientist currently working on an experiment for the Asta plant in East Berlin. If the experiment is successful its a brilliant new invention. But Wagner is the target of sabotage, and all the decisive experiment fails. Wagner can not explain this setback.
