Trolltider – the legend of the Bergatrollet is SVT's Christmas calendar 2023, directed by Lisa Farzaneh from a script by Ola Norén and Roland Ulvselius. The series is a "reboot" to SVT's Christmas calendar Trolltider from 1979 with partly the same characters but a new story.

A story about how the legendary Swedish band Gyllene Tider became one of Sweden's biggest pop sensations. Per is the ambitious outsider at school, who discovers friends for life through the power of music as he finds MP, Micke, Anders and Göran. Despite hardships, the band goes on to break through in the early 80s, where their hit songs about life in a small town made them a nationwide sensation.

After his mother's death, he becomes emotionally shut down. He goes to the Nyingen festival to get in touch with his feelings, loses himself in a ritual and gets lost in the forest.

Anders, a former factory worker, has been driven into a meaningless existence and lives outside the civilized human frame. His father Stig is a demented senior with a successful academic career. Stig is full of pride and joy of life. The gap between them is an unresolved conflict.

A group of sweaty young men and a woman sit in a cramped apartment on a hot day and decide to party. The woman collapses in the heat.
