Ebrahim, 12, to help the widowed mother, lets herself be exploited by a statuary manufacturer. At school he makes friends with an older boy, an orphan of a father who lost his leg during a bombardment. With his great fortitude he will try to teach his younger friend how to be respected.
During the 1979 revolution, a group of Muslim militants try to evacuate their arsenal in the north of Iran distributing them between the people. There is a woman in the group whose husband is in prison and snitches the arsenal's location. Her brother flees from prison and joins the group too. Security officers are informed and send two of their forces as the escapees into the group in order to pursue the group members and arrest them all. The two officers succeed to perish all the members of the group except the woman's brother.
Towfigh is a rich man who has a large number of barrels and carts to distribute water, and in order to protect his interests through the exclusive distribution of water, he prevents any attempt by others in this field. But a young man named Moslem stands up to him and tries to compete with him with his small cart.
A famous singer named Eskandar who killed his cousin out of love and served 15 years in prison is released. He finds out that his nephew Sasan has impregnated his late cousin's daughter Negar and is reluctant to marry her. At first Eskandar tries to convince Sasan but when he flees the city, Eskandar marries Negar to save her honor. They decide to stay married until Sasan comes back.
