Jericho tries to persuade Christine to go into hiding, but she chooses to stay with Kovak. Jericho returns to his apartment and resists Satan's temptations. He makes a plan with Chicago to retrieve Christine. They go to the church where she is hidden, but the Vatican Knights try to kill her again. Jericho stops them and saves Christine and the clergy. Satan appears and Jericho escapes with Christine. Chicago betrays them and takes Christine while Jericho is beaten by Satanists. Jericho is rescued by Kovak and resumes his search for Christine. He finds Satan's hidden temple and rescues Christine, killing Marge for the second time. Chicago tries to stop Jericho, but he fights off Satan's influence and is burned alive by Satan. Enraged, Jericho opens fire on Satan and escapes with Christine. They board a train and attempt to escape, but Satan catches up with them and wrecks the train. Jericho and Christine escape to the streets and into another church where he prays to God. Satan confronts Jericho and possesses him. Jericho attempts to assault Christine, but she helps him fight Satan's control. Jericho impales himself on a sword and disables his body before midnight. At the stroke of midnight, the will of God frees Jericho's body from Satan's control and sends Satan back to Hell. Jericho dies and Christine thanks him for saving her life.
