Sophie, viscountess of Valrude, believes herself being a widow since her husband disappeared in the Amazon.

A top-secret prototype is stolen from an American base. The man who stole it, Andersen, is murdered. The investigation is led by Jeff Gordon, who discovers in Andersen's papers a photo of a woman identified as Corinne Martin. Jeff Gordon escapes an assassination attempt on his way out of Martin's house and meets Corinne again, who denies any involvement in the robbery. Her husband, in the pay of foreign spies, is in possession of the "repeller". After several scuffles, Jeff Gordon arrests Martin and his accomplices. The prototype is returned to its base.

Georges Despeu, an employee without stature or fortune, is about to receive his daughter Barbara whom he has not seen since her early childhood. She returns from the United States to meet her father. With the complicity of his brother, guardian of the Monjambier's property, Georges decides to settle in the luxurious villa and to play the rich owner not to disappoint his daughter. This piece was specially recorded (without audience) for television in March 1984, at the Buttes-Chaumont and broadcast on Antenne 2.
