In a magical kingdom, a young girl named Sonja embarks on a journey to find the Christmas star and save her kingdom from an evil curse. In spite of the German search for them, the Norwegian resistance picks them up and hides them in the attic of the local church, a center of operations. Things become tense, however, when the hideout is spotted by a notorious collaborator, and soon the protagonist, Hans, has to get the airmen to Sweden.
In the end of the great war and general major Arthur Ranlow orders an attack on an enemy atomic installation. He sends some men he suspects having a good eye towards his wife. Years later he is confronted with this under an occult session.
