Marie-Hélène Ronsin, a young French teenager, is on her first trip to England as an au pair. Speaking some English, but very shy, she lives with a family in Brighton, and faces the challenges of culture shock.

A British writer goes on a trip to Prague and becomes entangled in a web of international relations and spy spoofing. He is mistaken for a British intelligence agent and gets involved in a mission to stop a secret plot. Along the way, he encounters pretty women, unemployment, and hilarious situations.
