In 1987, a man in New York City invents a device that can manipulate electromagnetism. He becomes involved in a criminal conspiracy when a gangster kidnaps his ex-wife and forces him to use the device for nefarious purposes. Along with a female detective, the man must navigate a web of lies and deceit to save his ex-wife and uncover the truth.
