The Secret of Kells (2009)

In the 9th century, a young boy named Brendan lives in the Abbey of Kells, where he is tasked with helping to complete the Book of Kells, a sacred manuscript. When a renowned illuminator arrives at the abbey, Brendan discovers a hidden world of magic and must embark on a dangerous journey to find a mythical crystal and finish the book.
