As they explore the forest, strange phenomena and symbols carved on trees appear. They find an abandoned cabin with eerie necklaces and a wooden effigy. Nightmares plague them, and they discover strange puncture wounds on one of them. One friend goes missing, and they find him impaled on branches. They try to escape but are captured by a cult who worships the creature. One friend is sacrificed, while the protagonist breaks free and sets the cult members on fire. He escapes, confronts the creature, and manages to kill it before finding civilization.
