In an alternate Victorian Age world, a group of famous contemporary fantasy, science fiction, and adventure characters team up on a secret mission. In 1899, men dressed as German soldiers attack the Bank of England and steal Leonardo Da Vinci's layouts of Venice's foundations. Led by their leader the 'Fantom', men dressed as British officers kidnap German scientists and destroy a factory, causing tension between the United Kingdom and Germany. Sanderson Reed of the British Empire recruits world-renowned hunter and adventurer Allan Quatermain, who teams up with Captain Nemo, chemist Mina Harker, and invisible thief Rodney Skinner. The team sets off on a mission to stop the Fantom from destroying Venice and starting a world war. Along the way, they recruit immortal Dorian Gray and Dr. Jekyll, and uncover a traitor within their ranks. With teamwork and sacrifice, the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen saves Venice and stops the Fantom's evil plot.
