The leader of a drug cartel busts out of a courthouse and speeds to the Mexican border, where the only thing in his path is a sheriff and his inexperienced staff. Sheriff Ray Owens (Arnold Schwarzenegger), resigned to a life of fighting minor crimes, must rally his team to stop the drug lord from escaping. With the help of unconventional allies and their own determination, they engage in a dangerous showdown to protect their town and apprehend the criminal.
