Rubin and Ed, a salesman and an eccentric loner, are brought together on a road trip in Utah to bury Rubin's dead cat. Along the way, they encounter various surreal and absurd situations, including water skiing and a seminar on getting rich quick. Despite their differences, they form an unlikely friendship.
