Red Hook Summer (2012)

Red Hook Summer tells the story of a 13-year-old boy from Atlanta who goes to spend the summer in Brooklyn with his deeply religious grandfather. As he navigates the challenges of a new environment and confronts the harsh realities of life in a housing project, he forms a friendship with a local girl and becomes involved in the church community. The story explores themes of religion, friendship, and the effects of sexual abuse within the church.
