Nurse Betty tells the story of a waitress named Betty who witnesses her husband's murder. Traumatized, she becomes obsessed with a soap opera and believes that one of the characters is in love with her. In a delusional state, she sets off on a road trip to find the fictional soap opera star, with two hitmen and a police officer in pursuit. Along the way, Betty's obsession leads to comedic and dramatic encounters, revealing the fragility of her mental state and the impact of trauma on her life.
