Letter from an Unknown Woman (1948)

In 1900s Vienna, a young woman falls in love with a famous pianist and writes him a letter expressing her feelings. Despite their brief encounter, she becomes obsessed with him for the rest of her life, even as he remains unaware of her existence. Their paths cross again in the 1910s, but tragedy strikes when the pianist's illegitimate son dies from typhus. The woman continues to love him silently, eventually dying alone. The film explores themes of unrequited love, obsession, and the power of a single letter.
