After being convicted for manslaughter, a young man named Vince Everett is sent to prison. There, he meets a former country singer who teaches him how to play the guitar. Vince realizes his talent for music and starts a band with other inmates. He becomes a successful rock and roll artist, but fame comes at a price as he struggles with his own demons and the temptations of the music industry.
