Twins Simon and Jeanne travel to the Middle East following their mother's death to uncover their family's past. Through a series of flashbacks, the movie tells the story of their mother Nawal, who was impregnated by a refugee and faced numerous challenges during the Lebanese Civil War. Nawal joins a radical organization, becomes a prisoner, and gives birth to twins. Upon her death, Nawal's will requests that her children find their father and lost brother. Simon initially refuses, but Jeanne continues the search and eventually uncovers the truth.
