Meanwhile, Manny's over-protectiveness of his teenage daughter causes tension. The group reunites with Sid's family, gets captured by pirates, and plans their escape. They reach an island, steal a ship, and save Manny's family from the pirates. They defeat the pirate leader and find a new home on another continent. The film also follows Scrat's quest for his acorn, leading to the separation of the continents and his discovery of a squirrely paradise.
