Ricky's troubled past and Hec's own mistakes are revealed as they survive in the bush and encounter various obstacles. Along the way, they become local celebrities due to their story being reported in the news. With the help of a girl named Kahu, Ricky ultimately finds his place in a loving family and embarks on new adventures.
