Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid (1975)

Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid tells the story of a young mermaid who saves a prince from a shipwreck and falls in love with him. She yearns to become human and make him fall in love with her, but must make a painful sacrifice in order to do so. With the help of a powerful witch, she agrees to trade her voice for a chance to be with the prince. However, the prince's true love lies elsewhere, and the mermaid must face the consequences of her choice.
