Flags of Our Fathers (2006)

During the Battle of Iwo Jima, a photograph of six men raising the U.S. flag on Mt. Suribachi becomes iconic. 'Flags of Our Fathers' follows the lives of three surviving servicemen who become heroes and are used to promote war bonds, despite their own doubts. The battle continues, resulting in the deaths of three marines, while the others are taken out of combat. The men struggle with their newfound fame and the public's perception of heroism.
