Dev.D is a modern-day adaptation of the classic novel Devdas. The story follows Dev, a spoiled brat from Delhi who becomes addicted to drugs and alcohol after his childhood sweetheart, Paro, marries someone else. Dev embarks on a journey of self-destruction, exploring his sexuality, hitchhiking, and indulging in psychedelic experiences. Along the way, he comes across Chanda, a young prostitute, who becomes a key figure in his life. Dev's journey is filled with emotional abuse, manipulation, and the grim realities of life, ultimately leading to catharsis and a new beginning.
