In the small island community of Sardinia, 10-year-old Vittoria lives with her adoptive mother Tina. Their peaceful life is disrupted when Vittoria discovers that Angelica, a troubled woman living on the island, is actually her biological mother. As Vittoria starts spending time with Angelica, Tina becomes increasingly jealous and tries to assert her authority.
