Countdown follows a journalist who discovers a videotape that contains evidence of a terrorist attack. With only a few hours to spare, he must unravel a conspiracy and stop the attack from happening. Along the way, he encounters danger, murder, and twists leading him from Rome to Russia, facing various threats including a knife-wielding assassin, explosive-filled jeeps, and even a helicopter chase. As he gets closer to the truth, he realizes that hostages and the fate of nations are hanging in the balance.
