In Before I Hang (1940), Dr. John Garth is sentenced to death for a mercy killing but has his sentence commuted to life in prison. While in prison, he conducts experiments with an experimental serum that can restore youth. When he accidentally overdoses himself, he develops a split personality and becomes a killer. As the bodies pile up, the district attorney and a detective work to uncover the truth behind the murders.
