Elliot Richards, a hopeless dweeb, is given seven wishes by the Devil in exchange for his soul. He wishes to be rich, emotionally sensitive, a superstar athlete, intelligent, and President of the United States, but each wish backfires. As he renounces his wishes, he realizes the importance of being true to himself and finds love in a surprising way.
