A musician named Ron Decker is sentenced to prison and must navigate the brutal world of incarceration. He forms a friendship with fellow inmate Earl Copen and together they try to survive in a system filled with violence, racism, and prejudice. Ron also struggles with his own identity and relationships with his father and fellow prisoners.
