Rambo returns to the jungles of Vietnam on a mission to infiltrate an enemy base-camp and rescue the American POWs still held captive there. Set around three years after 'First Blood', Rambo is released from prison to search for American POWs held by the Vietnamese. He is only allowed to photograph the POWs and not engage in combat. Rambo reluctantly agrees and parachutes into the Vietnamese jungle with minimal equipment. He meets a native girl, Co-Bao, and together they navigate the dangers of the jungle to rescue the POWs. Rambo faces betrayal, torture, and intense battles, but ultimately succeeds in his mission and escapes with the POWs. In the end, he confronts Murdock and demands that the remaining POWs be rescued.
