Maleficent and Aurora question their family ties as they face impending nuptials, unexpected allies, and dark new forces at play. Aurora's mother-in-law plots to destroy the magical creatures in the kingdom. Maleficent discovers a hidden society of fairies and harnesses her phoenix power to protect her loved ones. In a final battle, Maleficent saves Aurora and the kingdom from the evil queen's plans. The film ends with Maleficent flying away with the fairies.
